Tony Laenen – Has always been interested in art, but has not been able to pursue it to any degree until retirement. After two classes at Mt. Hood Community College in 1999, he began watercolor painting in earnest. He is still working on something ellusive called style and has not been able to stick to any one genre. Maybe neither will ever develop. He began painting in acrylic in 2009, but has not produced anything significant. Check out Sets, Banners, and Murals to view other departures in art.
Carol Laenen – CJ Originals – Sewing and tailoring, knitting and crocheting, cross stitch and embroidery, tole and one-stroke painting, stained glass and now weaving --- so many things to compete with my joy of reading, studying and learning! But that’s what it is all about, isn’t it? --- the JOY of learning new things. I’ve even tried wood carving and won’t claim competence but I do have some finished projects. Each project starts with an idea that becomes realized for it’s self. Even when the idea starts with a written pattern it always seems to call out for different materials, tweaks in direction, and individual expression. So it is true that “there is nothing new under to sun” (Ecc. 1:9) there is an amazing number of ways to put those ideas together.
